Activity reports (TKB) of the operations department of the staff of the German commander-in-chief in Denmark, 1940-1943
Below are transcripts of the activity reports (Tätigkeitsbericht = TKB) of the operations department (Abteilung Ia) of the staff of the German commander-in-chief in Denmark (Befehlshaber der deutschen Truppen in Dänemark).
Until the summer of 1943, the Commander’s various departments worked out activity reports covering periods of two months. The reports of the Operation Department were generally 5-10 pages long and was completed 1½-three months after the reporting period.
The reports of the Operation Department are key sources of the occupation as seen from the German military side, because they assessed both military and Political circumstances. So, the reports contain much information about the German cooperation with various Danish authorities and the German assessment of it.
The coverage of the activities of operations department Abt. Ia's activities have following lacunas: April-May 1940, February-March 1942 and from the end of the period of the last TKB from 31 July 1943 until 4 November 1943 when the war diary was begun.
