Machine gun nest

This small and simple bunker was a part of the close quarter defence of the museum bunker. The bunker was supposed to give cover to the crew for a machine gun during bombardment, whereas the machine gun was itself to be operated from an open position in the terrain. 

The bunker was probably built in 1942, and it was an improvised construction, not a standardized type.
