Garage for searchlight

Garage bunker of the type Regelbau L/411A for 60 cm searchlight. The bunker was constructed in the late summer of 1943.

The searchlight was used in case of air raid during night. The task of the searchlight was to point out the enemy airplane for the three 20 mm guns, which were emplaced in the immediate vicinity. In case of airraid warning the searchlight was taken out of its bunker and pushed to its position at the end of the concrete tracks.

The bunker’s garage room housed the 60 cm searchlight and its generator. The The crew room contained bunk beds for 6 men, and was equipped with a heating stove and a hand-operated ventilation apparatus.
