Canteen and kitchen of the 38 cm battery

The big two winged building contained the Canteen and kitchen of the 38 cm battery, built in 1941. At noon, the whole battery crew in several shifts walked to the building to get their hot meal of the day in the canteen. Breakfast and the dinner was eaten in the bunker.
On the ceiling above the kitchen and the canteen were rooms for the personnel, who worked in the kitchen. The concrete ceiling over the cellar of the building is 50 cm thick, so the cellar could be used as an air raid shelter.
The building is since 1965 in use as district heating central for the city of Hanstholm.
