Bunker Museum Hanstholm

Come and visit us

Experience Northern Europe's largest fortifications from 2. World War II.
See the big guns and explore the bunker.

At Bunkermuseum Hanstholm you get close to World War II in the strongest German fortress in Denmark.

The museum's enormous bunker was home to 90 German soldiers, but also housed one of the huge 38 cm cannons. Several of the bunker's rooms have been restored to their original appearance to give you a sense of how the soldiers lived. In other rooms there are exciting special exhibitions - for example about 38 cm cannons, the Olsen Gang in Jutland or the battleship "Bismarck".

The museum's modern exhibition building, the Documentation Center, houses exciting exhibitions about the people who lived in and around the bunkers and the weapons used in the bunkers of the "Atlantvolden".

The museum is located in some of Denmark's most beautiful nature on the edge of the North Sea and Thy National Park.

Throughout the summer you can ride the old ammunition train that runs through some of the large bunkers.
