Many children and families with children visit Bunkermuseum Hanstholm. Approximately in the middle of the modern exhibition building you will find a children's room where you can draw. Ask the staff if you have trouble finding it.

Four tips for a great museum visit with your child:

  • Preparation. Prepare the child for the visit by viewing images from the exhibition to create curiosity.
  • Your story. Talk about what the child's family experienced during the Occupation. Where did they live, what did they do and did they meet a German soldier?
  • Customize the visit to the child. Take a break, get refreshments and talk about what you see. See if you can find children in the exhibition. What did they experience?
  • Continue the conversation. When you get home, you can talk about the visit and what stories the child found interesting. Maybe you can draw something from the exhibition?

When you come with a school class, we want to know in advance so we can avoid unnecessary crowds and give everyone the best experience. Contact us on 9796 1736 so we can help you plan your visit.

We recommend that you book an introduction with a facilitator when you bring your school class. It costs DKK 300 and lasts approximately 20 minutes. Before your visit, you will receive a printable worksheet to help your students get the most out of their visit. Introduction can be booked on 9796 1736.

We are happy to mediate for children inside and outside the museum. Our school service has many offers and is always ready to find exactly what your class needs.
