Playing with Chicken Rings
In 1940s Denmark, chicken rings became a popular children’s craze, where kids made chains and played “chicken” with them. Originally, they were used for tagging poultry, but children turned them into toys. Later, colorful plastic versions appeared, which are still available today.
At the Hanstholm Bunker Museum, children can try their hand at “chicken hunting” during fall break and learn about the fun
story behind it.
